Michelle,thanks for stopping by and for your kind comments . these surfing pictures were taken on the North Sea coast and unlike the CA coast where you get the swell building up across the Pacific, or the South-West coast of the UK where they get the swell from across the North Atlantic, the North East coast doesn't get any. This surfing competition took place on a very calm day and the wave you see was as good as it got, but the surfers did a lot with very little and I was impressed by their determination and skill; best wishes, Charles
