The newly refurbished Tyneside Film Theatre opened its' doors today after a major re-refurbishment. I feel it won't capture the magic of its' temporary home across the river in the old Town Hall in Gateshead, and parking will be a pain, but it's all very fancy indeed:

Walker Evans, in Hexham


Walker Evans worked for the American government’s Farm Security Administration programme during the Great Depression of the 1930's, and took some memorable images of the era including this one above of a share-cropper. So it was an unexpected treat yesterday to find an exhibition of his work in the small but delightful Northumbrian town of Hexham yesterday.
