fabulous. memories of going down armthorpe pit in the late 70's.... crawled on our bellies for 3/4 mile to be shown how it was, then told at the end we could walk back....a memorable day

Coal Mine? At least the could stand up---sort of.

yes a real but no longer operational coal mine ,you'd have to be very short to stand-up in this tunnel; it's about 4feet 6 inches high; I'm 6-3 and it was back breaking just walking down hunched up. Some miners worked in seams 18 inches high!!! the real thin seams.
