A day to reflect on man's inhumanity to man.

Over 11 million people died in the genocide carried out by Hitler's Third Reich including over 1.5 million children from across Europe who were murdered by the Nazi regime.

Rwanda 1994, almost one million people were killed in the space of just one hundred days.

Pol Pot's Cambodia 1975-1979. 1.7 million people killed, one-fifth of the country's population.

Stalin's Soviet Union. 2.7 million executed, 4.8 million die in the GULAG and labour colonies, 1.7 million deaths due to deportations .

Vietnam; nearly 2 million civilians in the north and the south were killed between 1954 and 1975.
