H, many thanks for your gracious comments. The Carnival is held every August in an area of London called Notting Hill, see : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notting_Hill_Carnival. I lived in London for almost 30 years but am now back on my native Tyneside, but like to return for the carnival every year..
